Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply when you engage Cornerstone Construction ("we", "us") of Hereford, Herefordshire to provide building, decorating or maintenance work, and when you use this website.

1. Quotes

Written quotes are free and valid for 30 days from the date issued. Quotes are based on the information and access you provide; significant changes to the scope, hidden defects discovered once work begins, or material price changes may require an updated quote, which we will discuss with you in writing before continuing.

2. Acceptance & deposits

Work is booked into the diary once a quote is accepted in writing (email or text is fine). For jobs requiring materials to be ordered upfront, we may ask for a materials deposit; the balance is invoiced on completion unless otherwise agreed.

3. Access & site conditions

You agree to give us safe access during agreed working hours, working power and water, and to move or protect items of unusual value before we start. We will treat your property with care and clean up at the end of each day.

4. Payment

Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue by bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice. Overdue amounts may incur statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the work is for a business customer.

5. Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. The guarantee covers defects in our work; it does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party alterations, ordinary wear, settlement movement, or pre-existing problems. Manufacturer warranties (e.g. windows, paint, roofline) apply per the manufacturer's terms.

6. Insurance

We carry public liability insurance. Certificates can be provided on request.

7. Cancellation

If you cancel a booked job, any non-returnable materials already ordered for your project remain payable. Consumer cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not affected.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, our total liability for any job is limited to the price paid for that job.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
